National Guard and Reserve personnel constitute more than half of the total military force of the Department of Defense. This always-ready force is made up of highly skilled, well-trained, and dedicated individuals who can be an asset to the civilian workforce. Moreover, the servicemembers' families who serve alongside them are highly educated, diversly skilled, and equipped to adapt to any situation.
However, some employers are hesitant to hire from the reserve component community. Companies have expressed concerns about the staffing impacts that may result from repeat military activations. They often wonder,
